LOS ANGELES, CA – The Clippers have been playing at the Staples Center for more than 15 years now, and amid the team’s recent success, new ownership evidently decided it was time for a facilities upgrade. Now, the team’s locker room has gotten a big makeover designed by Gensler and carried out by Shawmut Design and Construction.

Completed in time for the current season, the resulting locker room and team facilities have a pretty sophisticated new look. Adorned with ergonomic conference chairs, the redesigned room features dark wood lockers that include storage drawers and separate shoe drying areas, along with a touchpad locking system.

The rather intimate shower area is also looking quite business-like (certainly no place for any towel snapping antics) with wood plank tiles and recessed shampoo cubbies, along with both fixed and detachable shower heads. It’s adjoined by a “grooming area”—an essential feature in the increasingly fashion-conscious NBA. It includes a triple vanity with white quartz countertops and plenty of mirror space.
