While the future of the real estate market is anyone’s guess, there seems to be no shortage of buyers for high-end homes. To that end, construction management titan Shawmut Design and Construction recently launched a luxury homes division.

According to Shawmut CEO Les Hiscoe, Beverly Hills is shaping up to be its most active market for those new services. Shawmut is currently focused on growing the business in L.A., New York and Miami.

With its roots in the residential industry spanning over three decades, the $1.3 billion national construction management firm’s new division aims to combine its refined cost controlling construction delivery system and experience with its talent for sophisticated scheduling and communication.

“We started building homes as a special service to our commercial clients who wanted the same superior service we provide for their businesses reflected at home,” explained Hiscoe. “It’s a meaningful move for us and a nod to our heritage as we formalize our commitment and bring our unprecedented expertise to the residential market.”

Over the years, Hiscoe said that clients often wanted them to develop residential properties by employing the same sophisticated approach they use in the commercial world for clients like Nobu, Tom Ford and Louis Vuitton.
