NEW YORK, NY – If you’re going to open a store on Fifth Avenue, you better make sure it stands out. Ralph Lauren’s new store does just that—so much so, in fact, design:retail magazine recently awarded the iconic American brand’s NYC flagship with its coveted Store of the Year honor.

Shawmut and architect Weddle Gilmore worked with Ralph Lauren to create a truly immersive experience for the guest. The first floor space features custom fireplaces made of river rock stone and reclaimed pine flooring while the second and third floors include white-washed brick walls, wood-paneled ceilings, and a mezzanine library. Connecting them all? A Shawmut-installed custom glass industrial elevator that serves as the centerpiece of the store.

We’re extremely proud to be a part of such a one-of-a-kind project, and would like to congratulate the entire project team on a job well done.
