Boston, MA, May 9, 2008 – Shawmut Design and Construction, (www.shawmut.com), a leading national construction management firm, will start construction at the end of the month on the new Davio’s Restaurant designed by restaurant designer Steve Todisco and BKA Architects, an architecture and interior design firm located in Brockton Massachusetts, at Patriot Place, a new 1.3 million square feet retail, entertainment and commercial use center located next to Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts.
The design of the new 10,000 square foot Davio's focuses on bringing many of the architectural elements that contributed to creating the atmosphere of the Davio’s in Boston to the Patriot Place location. Many of these features that have been found to drive the guest experience have been incorporated into the design. These include elements of historic significance such as columns, high ceilings, big windows, and finishes that provide an “old world feel” such as oak floors, and rich, mahogany wood paneling and wainscoting. The floor plan for the new location includes a dining room and several areas in which guests are able to observe the kitchen theater while enjoying their meals. Seats will be available for guests in front of the Chef's table and an elliptical-shaped bar. Shawmut Design & Construction has been selected as the general contractor. Construction is expected to start by the end of April and be completed for in time for the start of the pre-season in August.
