Shawmut Executive to Address the Concepts of Tomorrow Conference in Chicago

Boston, MA – October 6, 2006 – Shawmut Design and Construction announced that Shawmut Restaurant Group Vice President Brian Stys is scheduled to present at Restaurant Hospitality’s Concepts of Tomorrow Conference 2006 in Chicago, Illinois, at 10:00 am on Monday, October 9, 2006.

Based on his hands-on knowledge and restaurant construction expertise, Mr. Stys will offer tips on site selection, legal restrictions, lease reviews, controlling costs, signage and storefront options and more. He will elaborate on restaurant industry building trends and answer questions encouraging an open discussion directly following his presentation.

Shawmut’s restaurant group builds nationally-recognized restaurants such as New York City’s Masa, per se and Nobu 57, as well as themed and national concept restaurants from The Cheesecake Factory to California Pizza Kitchen, Yard House, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and more.

As Vice President of Shawmut’s Restaurant Group, Brian Stys draws on years of experience building fine dining, themed, and national concept restaurants. Based in Boston, Brian manages and supports Shawmut’s restaurant construction activities throughout the country, overseeing the $175 million restaurant group within a $600 million company.

With an understanding of the unique demands and priorities of the restaurant industry, Brian focuses on the management of Shawmut’s clients from the business development stage through pre-construction, construction and through the warranty phase.

Throughout his career, he has cultivated relationships with prestigious restaurant clients. His chain clients include The Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant, Morton’s of Chicago, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, Dave and Buster’s, Yard House, and Hard Rock Café. Shawmut’s unique concept clients include Masa, Jeffrey Zakarian’s Country, Jeffrey Chodorow’s Ono, Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville, Nobu, Stephen Starr, and Tom Colicchio to name a few.

Brian earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, Rhode Island and received a Certificate of Special Studies in Business Administration from the Harvard Extension School.
