Boston — August 2, 2006 — Shawmut Design and Construction recently announced the promotion of Chett Walsh to Director of Field Operations, Restaurant Group. Walsh, a 21-year veteran of Shawmut, previously served as Shawmut’s Director of Project Services, where he lead internal quality control, field operations training, and special client projects. The new position was created to oversee scheduling and systems development in response to the continued national expansion of Shawmut’s $175 million Restaurant Group.
As the Director of Field Operations, Walsh will lead the planning and execution of Shawmut’s restaurant schedule, working with clients early in the development phase to identify steps to help expedite project timelines and optimize construction schedules. With 30 years in the business, Walsh is an expert in fast-tracking schedules and has overseen the construction of more than 400 fine dining, themed, and national concept restaurants from Nobu 57, Masa and per se to The Cheesecake Factory, California Pizza Kitchen and P.F. “As the Restaurant Group continues to expand nationwide, and clients increasingly partner with Shawmut early in the development process, Chett will be instrumental in ensuring we devise the best approach for each project while providing our clients consistency within their programs,” said Brian Stys, Shawmut’s Vice President of the Restaurant Group. “Having worked in nearly every role of Shawmut’s restaurant team, Chett has the technical and operational expertise to serve our growing client base.”
