Shawmut Design and Construction half-way through addition and renovation project
Providence, RI—September 29, 2009—Shawmut Design and Construction , a leading national construction management firm, held a "topping off" ceremony on Friday September 25 on the campus of the Wheeler School in Providence, Rhode Island to celebrate the completion of the structural frame of the Hamilton School addition. The Hamilton School Renovation and Addition project involves the renovation of an occupied 7,600 square foot, two-story wood-framed schoolhouse and the creation of a 10,800 square foot addition. The project architect is Ed Wojcik Architect and the structural engineer is ODEH Engineers, both of Providence, RI. The project, which is being completed on a 15-month, three-phase schedule, has roughly reached the half-way point of construction.
