Iconic New Burger Stand Concept Adding Locations in Brooklyn, NY and Westport, CT

Boston, MA – Shawmut Design and Construction, located at 560 Harrison Avenue in Boston, has announced it has been selected to build two new Shake Shack restaurants for Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG). 

Presently under construction, the Shake Shack located at 1849 Post Road East in Westport, CT is scheduled to be completed in mid-July. This project will mark the first Shake Shack located outside a major urban area.

Shawmut is also scheduled to begin work on a Shake Shack located at 409 Fulton Street in Downtown Brooklyn in mid-July. It will take approximately eighteen weeks to complete.

Each Shake Shack is tailored to fit the neighborhood it is located in, and the design concept incorporates sustainable and reclaimed elements to minimize its environmental footprint. The iconic chain, with an almost cult-like following, often boasts lines of eager customers who wait up to an hour to indulge in the delicious fare.

Shawmut has previously constructed seven Shake Shack restaurants over the past four and a half years, and since 2007, has served as the construction management firm for multiple projects by USHG, including Blue Smoke Restaurant, Maialino, and Untitled at the Whitney.
