Primed for an early summer opening, Smith & Wollensky Restaurant Group begins construction at Boston Properties' new Atlantic Wharf

Boston, MA.— Smith & Wollensky Restaurant Group announced today that the brand will soon expand its presence with the opening of a second location in Boston, Mass. The new Smith & Wollensky location will be part of Boston Properties' prestigious new Atlantic Wharf project located on Boston's historic waterfront, between the new Rose Kennedy Greenway and Boston Harbor at 294 Congress Street.

Working with Shawmut Design and Construction and Peter Niemitz of Niemitz Design Group, Smith & Wollensky Restaurant Group expects to open the restaurant in early summer 2011. Plans for the 10,000-square-foot space include interior dining with several private rooms, a luxurious bar and an expansive outdoor patio for waterfront dining, offering both lunch and dinner.

"So it is with great excitement that we introduce a new, but equally iconic, Smith & Wollensky location—one that will offer premium waterfront views and outdoor dining."

Operations at the Back Bay Smith & Wollensky location will continue as usual—with a greater emphasis on the unique private dining spaces and special event capabilities available at Boston's Castle. Expansion of the Smith & Wollensky brand within the United States and abroad is ongoing.
