At Shawmut, we place a big emphasis on training and development. Shawmut University was created to expose our staff to a wide range of learning opportunities to help further career and personal goals. It is an approach to training that provides employees with choices and options. Each staff member is required to take a minimum of sixteen hours of class credit per year. The classes cover every topic from specialized technical skills to delivering superior client service to best practices to management and leadership development.
Our efforts have been very successful and we've seen tremendous results. Staff members are embracing the training and clients are benefiting by working with people who are knowledgeable, motivated, and who bring a positive, "can do" attitude to the construction process.
