Noteworthy: Prior to the start of work on this luxurious high-end residence in Beacon Hill, Shawmut worked closely with the Beacon Hill Architectural Commission, whose approval was needed before proceeding. Base building work for this full interior renovation included all new M/E/P systems and significant structural work to accommodate the new elliptical stairway and elevator. Since the goal was to give the house a look that was a blend of old and new, many of the existing architectural details were incorporated or recreated to give the space a face-lift while still capturing the essence of the original interior. The kitchen and bathrooms were also outfitted with modern high-end finishes and appliances. Shawmut’s project team made all efforts to ensure that disruptions to the neighborhood were kept to an absolute minimum, which was a key factor in the project’s success.
