Project Manager Ashley Shawyer Named to Providence Business News 40 Under Forty

Each year, Providence Business News recognizes forty of Rhode Island’s most accomplished young professionals through its 40 Under Forty Awards. The program celebrates leaders across a range of industries who are making a meaningful impact in their fields and communities. This year, Project Manager Ashley Shawyer was selected as a 2025 honoree for her outstanding leadership, technical expertise, and dedication to shaping the future of construction in Rhode Island.

Ashley’s full PBN profile offers a personal look at her values and reflections.

With more than 16 years in the industry—and over a decade at Shawmut—Ashley has played a leading role in delivering some of Rhode Island’s most high-profile and technically complex projects. From large-scale university renovations to historically significant restorations, her work has shaped the built environment across the state. She began her career through Shawmut’s Construction Management Skills Training (CMST) program and quickly distinguished herself through her hands-on leadership, early adoption of new technology, and ability to navigate high-stakes, fast-paced environments.

Ashley has managed transformative projects for clients such as Brown University, Rhode Island School of Design, and Roger Williams University. Her portfolio also includes the restoration of a landmark private estate where she has coordinated specialized trades, structural restorations, and custom fabrication at the highest level of craftsmanship.

Beyond project delivery, Ashley is deeply committed to mentorship and workforce development. A graduate of Shawmut’s Leadership Development Program, she now gives back as a mentor in the CMST program and Shawmut Connect, and plays an active role in supporting students through the Shawmut Scholars partnership with Roger Williams University. She also lends her time to community causes—including volunteering with Amos House and serving as a board member and treasurer for her local neighborhood association.
