Bronx, NY – Shawmut celebrated the ribbon-cutting of the new Rebuilding Together headquarters in New York City on Wednesday June 21, 2017. Rebuilding Together is a nonprofit housing organization that rehabilitates homes and revitalizes communities to make them safe and healthy.

Shawmut donated construction management services for the new 4,400-square-foot building that features an appliance salvage store where residents can buy discounted appliances, plus classroom space where Rebuilding Together NYC (RT NYC) will host its workforce training program.

“As a Rebuilding Together NYC board member, I am honored Shawmut was able to be part of this special project,” said Les Hiscoe, CEO of Shawmut. “Community involvement is a large part of our company culture, and working with an organization such as RT NYC that rebuilds NYC neighborhoods is a natural fit for our team to support.”

Shawmut CEO, Les Hiscoe, has served on RT NYC’s board of directors since 2009, and was also the recipient of the Rebuilding Together 2014 Board Member of the Year Award. Les joined other board members, elected officials, and community leaders at Rebuilding Together NYC for the ribbon-cutting of their Gowanus headquarters in Brooklyn.
