DORCHESTER, MA - Shawmut, along with Mayor Marty Walsh, unveiled their latest medical division project at the ribbon cutting ceremony of the Beth Israel Medical Deaconess Bowdoin Street Health Center.

The Shawmut team conducted the three-phase project in partnership with architect Isgenuity. Phase one required a 4,460 square foot addition that included a new Wellness Center, additional examination rooms, and expanded health services, while phases two and three involved a 3,300 square foot renovation of clinical and support spaces throughout the first floor.

Founded in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood in 1972 by community residents, the Bowdoin Street Health Center will remain focused on providing outstanding medical care while maintaining a tradition of working with residents to identify and meet their unique health needs.

Shawmut is honored to open the doors to a center that is known for its innovation in transforming the patient experience. The care and dedication that the Shawmut team reflected in the final project mirrors the mission of excellent and compassionate care to the Bowdoin Street Health Center patients and community.
