Shawmut has seen retail leaders take a more integrated approach to designing and building sustainably, which the firm helps support and spearhead through everyday internal operations and client services. International retail consultant Bahjat Talhouni spoke with WWD about how Shawmut partners with clients, leveraging its in-house dedicated sustainability team of accredited experts to assist on everything from managing the LEED certification process to developing a bespoke sustainability strategy. The team has implemented quality assurance and control processes to ensure high-performance buildings that meet clients’ sustainability goals, with notable successes including Bottega Veneta’s Madison Ave flagship, and Coach and Victoria’s Secret flagships, both on Fifth Avenue.
