Noteworthy: Great Dome is the most iconic building on the MIT campus, serving as the symbol of the campus itself. This painstaking preservation addressed color, light, and sound as early 20th-century craft met 21st-century technology. In addition to the interior restoration, a weather skylight was placed atop the dome.
