Louis Vuitton - Michigan Avenue

Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL

Type of project: Renovation
Duration of Project: 44 weeks
Square footage: 10,00 sf
Partners: Barry Winick Architects

Noteworthy: Shawmut performed the fit-out of this two-level, downtown Chicago flagship location for the second time for long-time client Louis Vuitton. Having worked in the Palmolive Building before, Shawmut understood the logistics of working in the historic, mixed-use building as well as the importance of coordinating deliveries off-hours because of the heavy pedestrian and vehicular traffic on Michigan Avenue. The scope of work included ebony Macassar millwork from overseas, Venetian plaster, white oak hardwood flooring with stone flooring at the entrance, limestone cladded columns, LED canned lighting operated on a Lutron system, a new elevator with 2 stops, windows with custom mesh, stainless steel cladding, new offices, and training rooms. This was an open-store, 2-phased remodel completed over 44 weeks.
