BOSTON, MA – As part of Shawmut’s ongoing partnership with Community Servings—Massachusetts' only home-cooked, nutritionally appropriate meal delivery program for critically ill individuals and their families—Shawmut once again surpassed its goal as a Corporate Seller for the annual Pie in The Sky fundraiser.

In just three weeks, Shawmut broke its goal of 75 pies by nearly 75%—selling over 130 pies and raising a record breaking $3,900 for the charity. Sellers are an essential part of what makes Pie in the Sky a success year after year, and since 2011, Shawmut has raised over $40,000 for the charity.

Shawmut first partnered with Community Servings in 2007, when the non-profit opened their Shawmut-built state-of-the-art nutrition facility in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts. Since its opening, the new facility has enabled Community Servings to significantly increase meal capacity to produce 2,500 meals per day, improve food quality, engage greater numbers of volunteers, expand nutrition services, and offer additional on-demand food-service.

In addition to Pie in The Sky, Shawmut volunteers regularly spend time at the non-profit’s facility, preparing medically tailored meals that are distributed to clients in over 20 cities and towns in Massachusetts across 300 square miles. Shawmut is also a proud sponsor of the annual LifeSavor gala, which raised $550,000 last year alone.
