Over the past 25 years, Shawmut has grown from a one-man operation into an 800+ person firm – as we have continued to grow, we have built on our past to become a top award-winning construction firm. Not only have we been a part of award winning teams and projects, but our own company has been honored many times as one of the area's top CM firms.

The Boston Business Journal award recognizes a company's achievements in creating a positive work environment that attracts and retains employees through a combination of employee satisfaction, working conditions and company culture. Shawmut was one of 328 companies that entered in 2007 and was evaluated on the results of employee-satisfaction questionnaires addressing our pride in the company, company encouragement, support and recognition of achievement, and relationships with co-workers and supervisors. This win marks the fourth year in a row that Shawmut has been recognized on the BBJ list and our first #1 finish!

The Providence Business News and the Rhode Island State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) have chosen Shawmut Design and Construction as one of Rhode Island's Best Places to Work for two years in a row. The award is based on an analysis of policies and practices as well as an extensive employee survey.

Engineering News-Record
Top 100 At-Risk Contractors and Top 400 Contractors
ENR annually ranks the top 100 At-Risk Construction Management Firms and the top 400 largest General Contractors by revenue, as well as by a wide variety of market sectors. This ENR survey is used as an important reference tool throughout the industry. In 2007, Shawmut was ranked as the #34th CM At-Risk Firm and #88th in the top 400 GCs.

2006
In their first ever competition, the editors of Building Design + Construction named Shawmut one of five firms as the "Best AEC Firms To Work For" in the U.S. architecture/engineering/construction industry. The companies were selected for exhibiting positive work environments and care for their employees. The winners were chosen from among 52 applicant firms from across the U.S.
