Fifth Avenue, New York, NY

Type of project: Fit-out
Duration of Project: 22 weeks
Square footage: 2,900 sf
Partners: IA New York Interior Architects PC

Noteworthy: The space is brought to life with a high, glass atrium entrance, a sleek and modern design, over 100 LED display monitors, and products on display like artwork, giving the store an almost gallery-like feel. Dyson designed this new experiential concept to encourage guests to learn and understand the technology behind their machines. Shopping for Dyson products becomes more than just a transaction but a multisensory experience. Guests are allowed and encouraged to look, pick up, and test all products. The store was built specifically so that guests can really know what is at the core of these machines they want to purchase.

The store features a “test” floor where various types of flooring were installed in a specific area in order for customers to test out the vacuum cleaners on different floor types and with different types of dust and debris, an in-store salon where guests can make hair appointments and test out the new Dyson Supersonic hairdryers, and a small purification room was also added for guests to step in and experience Dyson’s new line of air purifiers.
