NEW YORK, NY – Shawmut had the pleasure of building Coffeemania in New York City’s Bryant Park. The restaurant joins the popular restaurant group’s existing 27 locations as its first in the United States.

In partnership with Equity Office Properties and GBRH Design, the Shawmut team revamped the 5,000-square-foot raw space to dovetail with the aesthetic of Coffeemania’s brand in Moscow. By coordinating and installing a custom millwork package, the team highlighted the space’s gorgeous 15-foot ceilings and enhanced its open-air format. Shawmut also implemented oak, stone, brass, and patina finishes, and installed floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook Bryant Park. The ultimate result is a space that’s both chic and comforting, with a seamless mix of modern and historic design.

“Understanding the importance of Coffeemania’s first foray into United States, our team worked closely with the restaurant group and our partners to ensure no detail went overlooked,” said Randy Shelly, vice president at Shawmut. “It was a thrill and an honor to play such an integral part in bringing such a well-respected brand to New York.”

Despite the inevitable challenges that come with executing a project for an overseas client, and coordinating logistics with multiple international vendors, Shawmut completed the project on a 27-week timeline.
