LA’s latest rooftop restaurant destination, Margot, premiered at Culver City’s Platform. Shawmut partnered with IB Hospitality founder, Rohan Talwar, designers Thomas Schoos and Lisa Gill, and JAGAR Architecture to help bring the space to life. Margot features vintage chandeliers, marble table tops, ceramic tiles, woods, and concrete floors that create a cohesive aesthetic throughout the indoor lounge and bar area, patio, and outdoor lounge.

There’s something special about Margot, the new rooftop restaurant debuting today at the Platform project in Culver City. In a city still finding its footing when it comes to elevated outdoor dining, the lush arrival promises to be a major player — even as the Expo Line train rolls past at eye level.

The Shawmut-built, Thomas Schoos-designed space is a mix of California chic and outright rooftop decadence, with views that spill out over the western side of LA. Eventually the construction across the street and just down the road will hold tens of thousands of square feet of office space for names like Amazon, so [IB Hospitality’s Rowan] Talwar is getting in early with what may be the coolest opening for Culver City in a long time.
