Chief People Officer Marianne Monte was appointed by Governor Gina Raimondo as the newest member of Rhode Island’s Council on Postsecondary Education. Previously, Marianne has also served on the governor’s transition team and the state’s retirement board. The Council provides oversight for the system of public higher education in Rhode Island—including University of Rhode Island (URI), Rhode Island College (RIC), and the Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI)—along with the Office of the Postsecondary Commissioner.

Rhode Island’s Council on Postsecondary Education has a new chairman, Tim DelGiudice, and two new members, Joseph MarcAurele and Marianne Monte.
Gov. Gina Raimondo appointed MarcAurele and Monte. They were confirmed by the Senate last month.
Raimondo also appointed DelGiudice as chair of the Council on Postsecondary Education, which oversees the state’s three public colleges, and reappointed Daniel McConaghy as chairman of the Council on Elementary and Secondary Education.
DelGiudice has served as a member of the postsecondary council since 2016. He succeeds William Foulkes, who served from 2015 until spring 2018. DelGiudice is the strategic initiatives senior program manager at Raytheon, a defense contractor where he has worked since 2007. He is also chairman of the board of the Southeastern New England Defense Industry Alliance. DelGiudice previously worked for Congressman Jim Langevin and former Congressman Bob Weygand.
Joseph MarcAurele recently retired as CEO of Washington Trust Bank and now serves on its board of directors, and Marianne Monte is chief people officer at Shawmut Design and Construction.
