In partnership with Commune Design, Shawmut’s Luxury Homes team renovated a Santa Monica residence that overlooks the Pacific Ocean. The remodeled floor plan opens up the condo, connecting all of the rooms to provide a view of the water from almost everywhere. Bamboo shōji screens were installed in place of doors. Inspired by a Le Corbusier home in Paris, the residence features custom elements including shelving, brass fixtures, and powder-coated aluminum doors and screens; Commune Design found the exact paints that are in the Le Corbusier home to use throughout the space. The Luxury Homes team worked hand-in-hand with Commune Design and the client to ensure that the renovated residence captures their exact vision.
