Private Residence–Manhattan

New York, NY

Type of project: Renovation
Duration of Project: 13 weeks
Square footage: 3,000 sf

Noteworthy: This multi-concept renovation involved many logistical and physical challenges that needed to be overcome within a tight 13-week window. In order to fully renovate the 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, powder room, and TV room, walls needed to be relocated, electrical had to be brought up to code, the electrical panel moved, and the washer and dryer relocated to the 6th floor. The scope of the project included American reclaimed oak flooring, blackened steel ornamental metals, reclaimed wood on the ceiling, concrete tile, a mirrored wall, stone backsplash and countertop in the bathrooms, all new appliances, cabinetry, and zinc countertops in the kitchen, antique mirrored panels, a full window wall, a staircase with blackened steel railings, a new fireplace, new A/V, and new recessed lighting throughout the residence. Shawmut also built a beautiful private terrace including a grill, fire pit, and planters. Despite permitting delays and access to only one elevator, which was shared with neighboring tenants in a fully occupied building, the project remained on schedule.
